The Sun under the magnifying glass This is the fascinating movement of the solar plasma jetsJun 302019
Scientists have shared some images where you can see in detail the area of the star of our solar system called active region 12593.
The Institute of Solar Physics of the Swedish Research Council has disseminated fascinating images obtained with a telescope located in Spain that gather the movement of the plasma jets on the surface of the Sun, as shown in a video published on Thursday on YouTube by the ScienceAlert portal.
The recording, which starts with a plane of the solar circumference, extends to the maximum one point of the active region 12593, equivalent to the size of twelve times the Earth, which allows to appreciate in detail how the plasma jets go up and down as the temperature of the hot gas increases and decreases.
Scientists captured these images as part of a series of multiple wavelength observations with the goal of closely examining the Sun's characteristics and better understand how its non-thermal energy moves.
