A giant robot inspired by the animated series Gundam takes its first stepsJul 292020
Its inauguration was scheduled to take place in October, but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Images have been released online of the moment when a giant robot developed by Japanese engineers takes its first 'steps' during tests on the assembly platform.
The robot is a life-size copy of the one from the popular animated series 'Gundam' and is being developed by the Gundam Factory company in the Japanese city of Yokohama. In the accelerated recording video, you can see how the robot leans, turns the trunk and lifts and flexes the limbs.
Gundam still doesn't have a head, but when it's finished it will be 18 meters tall. It was scheduled to be presented to the public this July and to be inaugurated in October, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, these events were postponed, and it is expected that they will take place throughout the year.
