A man who tried to run from the coasts of the state of Florida, in the United States, to New York City aboard a bubble-shaped boat reminiscent of the plastic balls used by hamsters, ended up being washed ashore not far from your starting point.

According to the Flagler Police Department, the peculiar boat that sailed last Friday from the city of San Agustín appeared this Saturday on the coast of the county, about 30 miles from where it started, after the 49-year-old ultramarathoner, Reza Baluchi, discovered that part of his security and navigation equipment had been stolen.

According to the athlete told local media, his "water race" until "The Big Apple" was aimed at raising funds that would be donated to charities for the benefit of rescuers, sick children, as well as for homeless people.

This is not the first time that Baluchi, who is originally from Iran and currently resides in the North American country as a refugee, tries to 'run on water' in his floating bubble, which he has called 'hydropod'. As early as 2014, he tried unsuccessfully to reach the Caribbean island of Bermuda; Likewise, in 2016 he was rescued by authorities after he failed to complete another of his water races in North Florida.
