Elon Musk jokes about the Inspiration4 mission menuSep 182021
The tycoon promised that next time there will be hot food and free wifi on the Crew Dragon spaceship.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has joked about the menu offered to the crew of Inspiration4, the first all-civilian mission to space currently orbiting Earth.
"I can't believe we're eating cold pizza in space. It's extraordinary!" Musk wrote in a Twitter post alongside an image showing the menu that travelers can enjoy aboard the Crew Dragon ship.
In addition to pizza, among the dishes that stand out from the varied offer are: Bolognese pasta, salami, bacon, omelettes, sandwiches, various types of sandwiches and drinks such as tea and coffee.
But apparently not entirely satisfied with the menu, the mogul was apologetic and suggested improvements for passenger comfort. "Sorry [the pizza] was cold! Next time, [the capsule] Dragon will have a food warmer and free Wi-Fi," he tweeted with a smiley face emoticon.
The historic Inspiration4 mission, made up for the first time by an entirely civilian crew - two men and two women - began successfully this Wednesday with the launch of the Falcon 9 booster rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in the United States.
The ship's crew, Jared Isaacman, Hayley Arceneaux, Sian Proctor and Chris Sembroski, will return home after three days of orbiting Earth in complete weightlessness. While the ISS orbits our planet at an altitude of 160 kilometers, the Crew Dragon does so at 585 kilometers.
